Rethinking the MBTA Ridership Experience

We are designing a public transit experience that is more pleasant, enjoyable, and productive.

In this project, the MIT Mobile Experience Lab explores how we can use new media technologies to connect public transit passengers to Boston MBTA station services. This project aims to design new experiences that will make the ridership experience more pleasant, enjoyable, and productive.

MBTA as a transit system not only acts as an entry point to neighborhoods but also as a facilitator for services and facilities within the transit system as well as those in the neighborhoods it connects. These services add value to a rider’s journey and foster socio-economic engagement.
