CNR IVALSA

The Trees and Timber Institute of the National Research Council was created in September 2002 by the merging of three previous institutes: the Institute for the Propagation of Tree Species (IPSL), the Institute of Wood Research (IRL) and the Institute of Wood Technology (ITL). It is the biggest Italian institute for research in the wood-forest sector.
The staff of IVALSA comprises 70 people, divided between the two branches in Trento and Florence. The research activities cover the technological development of wood, building, dendrochronology and preservation of the cultural heritage, protection and valorisation of the forests, assistance for companies, education and documentation service.

iGuzzini

The sons of Mariano Guzzini, Raimondo, Giovanni, Virgilio, Giuseppe and Giannunzio found Harvey Creazioni on the 30th June, for the production of artistic objects in enamelled copper. The name is a reference to Harvey, the invisible giant rabbit, the imaginary friend of James Stewart in the film of the same name released in 1950.
At the beginning the young Guzzinis work only in the evenings after their shifts at Fratelli Guzzini.

Harvey is the nucleus of the future iGuzzini Illuminazione. Indeed, soon after the foundation of the company, the production of copper objects is supplemented by the manufacture of lighting equipment in plastic.
